Author visit - Marcus Alexander

Nova Hreod Academy / Categories: News

Marcus Alexander, author of the Keeper of the Realms series of fantasy adventure books, captivated our year 9 and 10 students with his enthusiastic approach to creative writing and getting published which included some very impressive parkour stunts!

Students found out all about Charlie Keeper, the free running tomboy and heroine of his fantasy adventure books who deals with assassins, bad guys, marauding giants and more. Marcus told how it is important to experience what you choose to write about as it helps to give a realistic element to your work.  This was a very memorable visit which has inspired our students to read more and more.

Students were enthralled by his energy and enthusiasm for reading and writing, saying “Marcus did a great job of involving the audience during the assembly,” "He brings such an amazing atmosphere to the school,” "It was very exciting, inspirational and funny. Marcus was very interesting talking about what he has done in his life, it really opened my eyes and made me realise that life has a lot more meaning and that anything can happen”.
