World cup medallist visits Nova

Nova Hreod Academy / Categories: News

Scholars were excited to have a visit from United Learning sports ambassador Layla Guscoth. Layla is a qualified doctor who has worked at RUH Bath, and Southmead Hospital, Bristol. She plays for Team Bath and was part of the England squad that won a bronze medal at the 2019 Netball World Cup.

During her visit to Nova, scholars took part in a coaching session with her and she held a Q&A session with Year 10 sports studies scholars., who were interested to ask questions about topics such as her superstitions, what sacrifices she had made for her sport, her greatest achievement, biggest rivals and her injuries.

We are very grateful to Layla for visiting Nova. It was an inspirational day which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who took part.
