A Christmas Carol

Classic tale brought to life on the Nova stage

Barbara Freeman / Categories: News

Nova Hreod Academy put on a wonderfully colourful production of A Christmas Carol at the end of last term.  With excellent music provided by Mr Gray and the Choir, the script written and edited by Mr Stewart, and Miss Tomkins and Mrs Lewis directing and supporting backstage, the play really took off.

The production was a real success with stand-out performances for David Davies as Scrooge, Bob Cratchit was brought to life by Kye Meredith and Dominic Jackson and Emily Rowe sang in beautiful harmony to provide a sad backdrop to Tiny Tim’s funeral.

After performing a matinee to Year 5 and 6 students from local primary schools, the cast welcomed their families and friends to the evening production. The play was beautifully narrated with a great variety of singing, dancing and acting, showing off the talents of our students in all elements of the performing arts.

The cast thoroughly enjoyed themselves and they were really superb on stage. Mince pies and drinks were offered by Miss Siddon and the front of house team managed by Mrs Powell to create a real buzz of professionalism.

A huge well done to all.
