We recognise the importance of involving students as much as possible in aspects of Academy life
beyond the curriculum and encourage them to be young citizens who uphold British Values.
We have a School Council who are elected through a democratic process. They meet and greet
visitors, help with tours of the school and represent Nova Hreod Academy at many events. The
staffing sub-committee are also involved in the interview process for new staff, meeting with
prospective candidates.
Our Prefects represent Nova in promoting the good name of the Academy both
in school and the wider community. The prefect body is led by the Head Boy and
Head Girl who also represent the school at events and functions and provide a vital
link between the staff and the students.
We have a team of volunteer student librarians who are involved in the day to day running
of the Learning Resources Centre, allowing them to experience a real life working environment.
