This policy sets out how the academy will promote good behaviour, self-discipline and respect, prevent bullying, ensure that students complete assigned work, and regulate the conduct of students.
The Home School Agreement outlines the shared responsibilities and expectations between the school, students and the student’s parents or guardians.
The Careers Education, Information Advice and Guidance Policy has been develpped to underpin and support Nova Hreod Academy’s careers provision in response to the DfE statutory guidance Careers Guidance and Access for Education and Training Providers, January 2018.
Nova Hreod Academy supports the statutory requirement for students to have direct access to providers of further education training, technical training and apprenticeships. This policy outlines how the school complies with the legal requirements.
This policy sets out the policy of Nova Hreod Academy and its approach in relation to equality and diversity; ensuring that all students and staff are safe and able to thrive in a positive learning environment in keeping with its core aims and values to bring out the ‘best in everyone’.
This plan is drawn up in accordance with the planning duty in the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, as amended by the SEN and Disability Act 2001 (SENDA). It draws on the guidance set out in "Accessible Schools: Planning to increase access to schools for disabled students", issued by DfES in July 2002. At all times the school will also be equally aware of the needs of disabled staff, parents and visitors.

The purpose of the Site Traffic Plan is to inform and instruct employees, pupils, parents and other visitors about the site rules concerning pedestrian and vehicle separation.
Whistleblowing describes the act of reporting or disclosing information which relates to suspected serious wrongdoing or dangers in the workplace and is made in the public interest. This policy enables employees and other persons working for United Learning or on our premises, together with suppliers and those providing services under a contract with United Learning, to confidentially voice concerns over suspected malpractice or wrongdoing.

The E-Safety Policy clearly identifies the key principles expected of all members of the school community with regard to the safe and responsible use of technology to ensure that Nova Hreod Academy is a safe and secure environment.
Governing bodies of maintained schools and maintained nursery schools and the proprietors of academy schools must publish information on their websites about the implementation of the governing body’s or the proprietor’s policy for pupils with SEND. The information published must be updated annually and any changes to the information occurring during the year must be updated as soon as possible. United Learning academies will ensure students with Special Educational Needs and disabilities (SEND) realise their potential and are successful. The United Learning Trust is committed to ensuring that the necessary provision is made for every student within their schools’ communities. The Trust celebrates the inclusive nature of their schools and strives to meet the needs of all students with a special educational need and/or disability. This policy is in line with our Teaching and Learning Policy, Accessibility Plan and Equal Opportunities Policy and aims to support inclusion for all of our students.
The PSHE curriculum takes full account of the government’s statutory guidance on relationships and sex education (RSE) and health Education (February 2019). We aim to prepare pupils to take their place in society as responsible and risk aware citizens.
