The dates for our Transition Events for this academic year have not yet been confirmed. We will publish them here as soon as they become available. In the meantime, the information below provides an overview of the exciting transition opportunities and activities that students can look forward to as they prepare to join Nova Hreod Academy.
Year 6 Transition Roadshows
Year 6 students will have the opportunity to meet key transition staff during our Transition Roadshows. These will be held at the primary schools where larger numbers of students are joining Nova, and at Nova Hreod Academy where numbers are smaller.
Enhanced Transition Afternoons
Students who require additional support with their transition to secondary school will be invited to a series of transition visits with our inclusion team to help familiarise themselves with the surroundings and key staff.
Coffee Afternoons
Our after-school coffee afternoons offer parents, carers and students the chance to meet key members of staff in an informal setting, ask any questions and learn more about joining Nova, all while enjoying a cup of tea or coffee.
Induction Day
Year 6 students will spend a full day at Nova Hreod Academy, helping them prepare for a successful transition in September. During the day, they will experience life at Nova, take part in lessons, meet staff and fellow students, and become familiar with the school environment before joining us in Year 7.
New Parents' Welcome Evening
Parents and carers will be invited to attend our New Parents' Welcome Evening, an important event designed to help families prepare for the transition to Nova Hreod Academy. During the evening, you will hear a presentation from key staff, meet members of Nova's team and have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
We strongly encourage all parents and carers to attend, as the information shared will help students feel confident, prepared and ready for a successful transition in September.
