On behalf of the United Learning Trust, the Governors of Nova Hreod Academy are consulting on a proposed change to the Academy’s Published Admission Number (PAN) for entry into Year 7 from September 2028.
The Academy currently admits up to 240 pupils into Year 7 each year. It is proposed that, from September 2028, the PAN be reduced to 210 pupils.
Why is this change being proposed?
The proposal reflects projected pupil demographics locally and nationally, including a sustained reduction in birth rates and the resulting decrease in demand for secondary school places. Reducing the PAN will align the Academy's admission arrangements with anticipated demand while supporting effective long-term planning and the efficient use of resources.
This proposal will affect applications for admission to Year 7 from September 2028 onwards only and will not affect pupils currently attending the Academy.
In line with the requirements of the Admissions Code 2021, this consultation seeks to engage with parents and carers of children already at the school, as well as future parents of the school, the staff, other local admissions authorities and other interested parties.
The consultation will run for six weeks from 12th October 2026 to 23rd November 2026.
All responses received during the consultation period will be carefully considered by United Learning and the Academy Governors before a final determination is made.
The outcome of the consultation and the final admissions arrangements for 2028/29 will be published on the Academy website following the decision.
Thank you for taking the time to participate in this consultation.
