A Night of Community and Celebration at the Interfaith Iftar

Our fourth Interfaith Iftar, held on Wednesday 4th March 2026, was a truly special occasion, welcoming over 300 attendees across the late afternoon and evening. The event brought together students, families, staff and members of the wider community for an evening of togetherness, generosity and celebration.

Year 10 Enterprise students impressed guests by selling handmade bracelets and record clocks, developing valuable real-world entrepreneurial skills as part of their GCSE Business course. In addition, student leaders hosted a range of charity fundraising stalls. These included a Teddy Bear Tombola, Giant Jenga, refreshments in support of Swindon Night Shelter, and a glitter station, all of which were enjoyed by visitors of all ages.

A variety of external food stalls added to the vibrant atmosphere, with Glamorose, Mr Whippy and Moroccan Kitchen offering treats throughout the evening and we were also lucky enough to have a professional henna artist.

We were incredibly grateful for the generosity of our community and local businesses. Alongside numerous food donations from guests, we extend a huge thank you to Curry Cottage, Sinbad Tandoori, Khyber, Biplob, Jack Spice Fish Stop, Best Pizza, Bindi, Lal Bagh, Tandoori Nights, Sodexo and Moroccan Kitchen. Their donated dishes were eagerly enjoyed by students, staff and families.

A special thank you goes to Mr Gulam, Mr Rutherford, Mr Bailey, Ms Clare and Mr Shirmit for their support in collecting food, as well as to Mr Amawi for returning large catering pots after the event. We were also delighted to welcome Mayor Faye Howard, who joined us on the evening, attending in full mayoral regalia.

Finally, the commitment and enthusiasm of our student and staff helpers truly embodied the spirit of the Nova community. From setting up and hosting to supporting guests and packing away, their dedication shone brightly throughout the night and played a key role in the event’s success.
