On Wednesday 7th October, we were delighted to host our annual Young Musician of the Year competition, one of the highlights of the school’s performing arts calendar. Following auditions held three weeks earlier, a selection of talented musicians from Years 7 to 11 earned the opportunity to perform in front of an appreciative audience of parents, students and staff.

The competition showcased an impressive range of musical ability, with performers demonstrating not only technical skill but also confidence, creativity and a genuine passion for music. The audience was treated to a diverse programme of performances, reflecting the breadth of musical interests and talents within our school. From captivating solo performances to outstanding ensemble pieces, every participant should be immensely proud of their contribution.

The standard of competition was exceptionally high, making the judges' task a challenging one. Each performer demonstrated the dedication and commitment that comes with hours of practice and preparation, and the event served as a fantastic celebration of the hard work taking place in our Music Department.
